Comparison of Osteen and Driscoll When it comes to televangelists, all of them come from different backgrounds and have different views on the same religion of Christianity. When comparing and contrasting the views of Osteen and Driscoll, the idea of prosperity within the religion is something that is quite different for these ministers. Osteen delivers a sense that if you put God first, good things will happen and you will become prosperous by being a good Christian, whereas Driscoll says that isn’t necessarily true by saying that it isn’t about what God entitles for you, but getting you closer to Him, which in turn provides happiness. Osteen also says that with God, your dreams will come true and that you can imagine more. Victoria Osteen, wife of Joel, states, “God is a good god, He’s a gracious God, and when you put Him first, like Joel said, He will make your dreams come true.” (Joel Osteen Magnet Blessings From God 0:43) Osteen preaches about how if you put God first in your life, you will prosper. He says that good Christians will get wealth, have good health and relationships, and have happiness, and peace of mind in this life on Earth. He also talks preaches that God wants for you to be prosperous and that you will receive commanded blessings. Osteen says, “All you’ve got to do is keep honoring God and the right people will find you, the right opportunities will come across your path, the favor, the wisdom, the vindication will track you down.” (Joel Osteen Magnet Blessings From God 3:43) Joel Osteen’s message in the video consistently compares how people who put God first are like a magnet that attracts the goodness and blessings of God. Osteen uses the passage of Deuteronomy 28 to support
