Otto Frank
Otto Frank, or "Pim" was born on May 12, 1889. Otto and his family went into hiding in 1942, They hid in a secret annex. The annex was above Otto's office. In 1944 the Gestapo, or the Secret State Police in Germany found the annex and the family was sent to Auschwitz, a concentration camp. Otto was the only one, out of the family, that has survived. In 1947, Otto Frank published his daughter, Anne Frank's diary under the name of "The Diary of a Young Girl".
Otto Frank was born on May 12, 1889 in Frankfurt am Main in Germany. Him and his family were Jewish. In his family he had three siblings, an older and younger brother and also a younger sister. His father was named Michael Frank, and his mother Alice Stern Frank. After Otto graduated from high school, he went to collage to study during the summer at University of Heidelberg.

Jews could not run their businesses any longer. Otto had to put his Dutch workers as the owner of the Business. Margot got a letter, she was being demanded to report to a work camp in 1942. This letter led the Frank family into hiding, they were hiding in a place called the annex. The annex was hidden just above Otto's office. Otto and his family and along with four other people were hiding in the annex for about two years. While they were in the annex, Anne had a diary she wrote her feelings and thoughts in. On August 4, 1944 the police found the annex, the frank family was arrested. They were sent to the Westerbork transit concentration camp, the soon they were sent to Auschwitz.
