The Need for Christian Education Specialist I. Thesis Statement II. Introduction The call for the church the need for Christian Education Specialist (CES) in response to the modern society and to the growing needs of the church is the apt topic the will be discussed on this paper. We will attempt to answer two questions: 1) What is the nature of the educational task facing the church? 2) Does the church need specialized help to achieve the task? These two questions and their interdependent answers will help us to understand the relationship of a Christian Education Specialist (CES) to the modern church. III. Biblical Background A. The Great Commission Our rationale builds from an assumption that many of the New Testament teachings are essential for Christian Education ministry. Among these is the illustrious verse found in Matthew 28:19-20. I argue that Matthew 28 is more than the “Great Commission.” It explains the enormous and complex commandment lies before the church. It envisions a unique quality and scope of education. In other words, Christian Education should anticipate of the development of the society and the world and prepare young and old for the anticipated changes. He added that, “in a world in which the amount of knowledge increases geometrically, and which no one pace with it,” we need to change our emphasis from what we learn. Applied to Christian Education, the disciples would think and learn how to integrate their biblical faith in new and unfamiliar settings.
