Have you ever been accused of something you didn't do? The theme for Holes is growing up because Stanly shows responsibility for his friends actions, and is innocent of stealing Clyde Livingstons shoes.The reason i think that this is the theme is because Stanly is still young enough to learn from his mistake.
Body:
In Holes Stanley is Convicted of stealing a pair of famous shoes.He had the choice to go to jail or camp green lake. Once at camp green lake he learns he has to dig a 5 by 5 holes.
Stanly has to find a way to prove he is innocent ,well having to dig holes.
“Well the first hole is always the hardest.”(pg.45)
Stanly slowly finds out that he is innocent and is freed from camp green lake,along with zero. Because zero is the person
