John 3:1, “1 † There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.” A. Luke 18:18, Nicodemus was a Pharisee teacher of the Law of Moses to the Jews, and although Nicodemus was Pharisee that sat in Moses seat, he knew just like the rich young teacher of the Law of Moses that he still did not have eternal life.
1. Gal 3:24, These two teachers of the Law of Moses had arrived at the exact place God had intended; for the Law of Moses was a schoolmaster to bring them to Christ, that they might be justified by faith.
2. Gal 2:16, Nicodemus and the rich young teacher came to Jesus because they knew “that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
3. Gal 2:17, When the rich young teacher came to Jesus to be justified by the faith of Jesus, he found himself to be a sinner when Jesus told him to go sell all that he had and give to the poor; he was not able to walk in the faith of Jesus Christ because he was very rich.
