He experienced such compelling life and left a legacy for all generations to unfold with his writing. Moreover, the novelist had an interesting, vast experience in World War II, which inspired him more to write. His life and work made many motivations that still have impact on people’s lives today. William Golding had a fascinating life because of his family, his work, and his role during World War II. II. Family and Marriage To begin with, William Golding’s family had a great influence throughout his life. He was “born in Cornwall in 1911” and he then knew “from childhood that he wanted to be a writer” (“About William Golding”). According to Nobel Prize, “his father was a schoolmaster and his mother was a suffragette” and they seemed to support William Golding in his writing.
