Don’t take our word for it - see why 10 million students trust us with their essay needs.
Not everyone has a perfect life in today’s world. Many of us have gone through hardships or, are going through rocky times. Kelly Clarkson once sang,”What doesn't kill you makes you stronger” and that's exactly what i'm going to prove. Hard times don’t always destroy you and make you stronger as a person. Joe rantz, and Olympic rower for the 1936 Olympics, had many hardships in his life.
Theme: Challenges Make People Stronger. Challenges. People go through challenges everyday, they can either be easy or hard. Challenges can be the smallest bump in a person’s day or it can be something major. People learn and achieve something when they go through challenges in life and it ends up making them stronger.
Overcoming advers requires being brave and noble. Also, being able to look on the positive side in life in tough situations. Overcoming illnesses, disabilities, or disfunctional families can be very hard to deal with. Sometimes you just need to keep going and not look back and by doing so a lot more opportunities may appear in life. Christy Brown in My Left Foot, Bethany Hamilton, and Jeanette Walls in The Glass Castle are all examples of people who had to deal with great hardships in order to push them to become the successful and mature people that they are today.
Living in Conditions that Ultimately Made Them Stronger John Quincy Adams once stated, “patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.” In the world today, obstacles have an impact on the way one goes about their respective life. These obstacles range from emotions to illness to social class. How one interprets those obstacles decides whether that life goes down as a success or failure. As a society, we often admire those who take their obstacles and use them to create a better life.
Everyone in life, has faced many difficulties, it's a part of growing up. Many people however, do not have the same issues to overcome. A superb example, would be a man named Dave Pelzer. He has gone through the most brutal childhood ever imagined. He had, of course, overcome this difficult obstacle and he became very fulfilled with his life.
Kevin Conroy once said “Everyone is handed adversity in life. No one’s journey is easy. It’s how they handle it that makes people unique.” What Kevin means by this quote is that people will go through bad times, but it is how one handles the bad times. Adversity is defined as a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, and distress.
Hardship. Distressing. Trouble. All those are words that describe Adversity. Overcoming adversity is essential for us to live.
Barriers throughout someone’s lifetime could shatter them, or help them to build and become a better person. Either way, it is a decision one makes on their own. Some people’s hardships are worse than others, but that does not mean it was not tough for them to handle. Conflicts could even help shape the person going through a tough time. Simone Biles was determined to become stronger from her challenges, mentally and physically.
Adversity can take us by surprise, but everyone at some point in life experiences it. The way our personal identity can be shaped is through our phases of adversity. The experiences of dealing with difficulties can shape the way we view life and the actions that will show our persona. When we persevere adversity and obstacles it shows our reputation and our true type of identity. In the play Hamlet, William Shakespeare, illustrates the way Hamlet, as well as other characters, deal with adversity through the types of motives they are seeking.
People in life struggle with hardships enormously in life. People can overcome those hardships and become a new person entirely. Martin Luther King went through a great amount of hardships during the Civil Rights movement. Martin had a great amount of hate received to him all over the country.that just changed him to work harder to convince hateful people that blacks and whites could be together. Martin was sadly assassinated, but his image changed the world greatly.
Obstacles can be challenging, and difficult, but people can overcome them by never giving up, always trying their best, and surrounding themselves with families and friends. Two stories that I have read that show adversity are “A Work in Progress” by Aimee Mullins which is about a little girl losing her leg. The other story I read is “So Far From the Bamboo Grove” by Yoko Kawashima Watkins about a little girl that has to leave her home because of war and has very big obstacles to overcome. Aimee Mullins and the Kawashimas both face obstacles that include losing family members, walking very far in intense weather, and people doubting you and trying to stop you. In the end they all make it through the the challenges mentally and physically.
After the obstacles he has overcame Walt Disney once said “All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me… You may not realize when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.” Everyone has a time in there life where they need to get passed something that is in there way. When this time or times come everyone would find a way to get through it, whether it is asking for help or doing it on their own. When someone says the word adversity one would say you have to be hard working, determined, and strong would pop into their mind.
Georgia O’Keefe once said, “to create one’s world in any of the arts takes courage”. Finding the will and determination to continue creating, whatever the medium may be, does take a certain amount of will. This is especially true when facing adversity. Never, have I experienced this phenomena so readily and completely than has been demonstrated by my father. Dad is a pianist.
is an example of this. Secondly, people can overcome obstacles by not focusing on the results of what they are doing and getting rid of any negative
“The only limitations you ever have in life are the ones you put in your mind.” This quote by Napoleon Hill changed the way I have faced various obstacles and is one that remains in my thoughts. It serves as a vivid reminder not give up at first glance or allow others limitations to steer my path. Instead, I learned to keep moving forward to surpass even my own expectations and achieve what others believe to be impossible. Looking back at all my experiences, the goals I have accomplished and the lessons I have learned otherwise, I realize that many were thought to have been out of reach.
