Russ Carreker grew up playing football and had the opportunity to play collegially at Auburn University. He started to study to become a veterinarian, but that did not work out. He finished school in business and was looking for something that he could start making money from. Mr. Carreker believed in seven different things that could help a business become successful: You must have a good product at a great price or a great product at a good price, selling skill at the right market, be able to be the accountant of your own business until you can find someone who can do it for you, start off with enough capital because in a new business something is going to go wrong, ability to get others to help you get to where you want to be, be passionate
Challenges, we add had this problem trying to get what is blocking your way to sesses or survival. Also with that they need so much determination to do it. With that determination you can do some big things. The articles that are in this essay are Fighting Poverty with Education, Escape from North Korea, And a clip from the documentary The Dust Bowl. Theme: Challenges Make People Stronger. Challenges. People go through challenges everyday, they can either be easy or hard. Challenges can be the smallest bump in a person’s day or it can be something major. People learn and achieve something when they go through challenges in life and it ends up making them stronger.
Overcoming advers requires being brave and noble. Also, being able to look on the positive side in life in tough situations. Overcoming illnesses, disabilities, or disfunctional families can be very hard to deal with. Sometimes you just need to keep going and not look back and by doing so a lot more opportunities may appear in life. Christy Brown in My Left Foot, Bethany Hamilton, and Jeanette Walls in The Glass Castle are all examples of people who had to deal with great hardships in order to push them to become the successful and mature people that they are today.
Perseverance may seem difficult at times, but in the end it is what will make people satisfied with their own
Barriers throughout someone’s lifetime could shatter them, or help them to build and become a better person. Either way, it is a decision one makes on their own. Some people’s hardships are worse than others, but that does not mean it was not tough for them to handle. Conflicts could even help shape the person going through a tough time. Simone Biles was determined to become stronger from her challenges, mentally and physically.
It’s All About How You Handle the Fear “Courage doesn’t mean you don’t get afraid. Courage means you don’t let fear stop you.” -Bethany Hamilton.
Reading Presence by Amy Cuddy makes to believe there are much more dealing with same challenges. The more I read, the more I learn about our mindset, listening, failure, feeling as we don’t deserve to be here, feeling powerful and powerless. There’s are a quote in a book which states “ Power makes us approach, powerless makes us avoid.” When we think about positive things and having a positive outcome than we are more chance of approaching. While I was reading a passage on power and powerless, It made me think of time during my high school soccer tryout for varsity.
The author chooses to detail five different benefits of overcoming hardships, and one quote states: “The result is enhanced concentration, peak performance, and more confidence.” The use of the noun “enhanced” shows that due to overcoming hardship, many things can be enhanced such as resilience, and in this case concentration. This supports the theme of overcoming adversity to be stronger, as you can become a better person, have a healthier mindset, and be aware of or try to prevent future hardships. The use of the noun “confidence” adds on to the statement, supporting the theme of positive self improvement. Moreover, this also proves that over the course of overcoming hardships, you gain skills and change for the
Obstacles can be challenging, and difficult, but people can overcome them by never giving up, always trying their best, and surrounding themselves with families and friends. Two stories that I have read that show adversity are “A Work in Progress” by Aimee Mullins which is about a little girl losing her leg. The other story I read is “So Far From the Bamboo Grove” by Yoko Kawashima Watkins about a little girl that has to leave her home because of war and has very big obstacles to overcome. Aimee Mullins and the Kawashimas both face obstacles that include losing family members, walking very far in intense weather, and people doubting you and trying to stop you. In the end they all make it through the the challenges mentally and physically.
After the obstacles he has overcame Walt Disney once said “All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me… You may not realize when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.” Everyone has a time in there life where they need to get passed something that is in there way. When this time or times come everyone would find a way to get through it, whether it is asking for help or doing it on their own. When someone says the word adversity one would say you have to be hard working, determined, and strong would pop into their mind.
“Obstacles are barriers and to overcome them is to do whatever it takes to prevent them from stopping you from going where you want to go”. An obstacle is anything that keeps you from achieving your goal; it could be physical, financial or resource limitations. It could be moral opposition or anything that impedes you from comfortably achieving one's goal. Martin Luther King Jr overcame his obstacle in the Movie Selma. He gave Africans Americans the full right to vote.
Mariah Sanabria “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.” Booker T. Washington Life can often be full of obstacles. However, that does not mean that overcoming them and being successful is not possible. Obstacles in life are there as challenges. Obstacles that people face will show who they really are.
There are multiple reasons why overcoming obstacles is important according to the “Death Crawl” by Alex Kendrick such as: not giving up, having people support when you do hard things, and that you do not think negatively. For example, when you try to overcome an obstacle, it is important that you do not give up. According to the video, the coach says, “I want you to do it blindfolded so you don’t give up at a certain point when you could go further” (Kendrick). This shows that overcoming obstacles is important because if Brock new where he was on the field, he might have just given up when he got to the 50 yard line, and not have gone all the way to the end zone. Furthermore, when you try to overcome an obstacle, it is important that people support
As we all know, the way to success is full of obstacles and difficulties, and you need to try your best to handle these problems and persist achieving final goals. There are many examples such as Thomas Edison, one of the greatest scientists in the world, spent several decades inventing the battery. Though he failed so many times, he never gave up but persisted testing for thousands of times, and finally he succeeded in inventing the battery. However, if he gave up when he faced problems, we cannot enjoy the benefits of the battery as so early. What makes him a giant in the invention field is that his
