Many teenagers go through life with a lot on their plate imagine adding another child to the mix. A number as high as 305,388 babies have already been born to girls/woman ages 15-19 in 2012 (cdc.gov). Many young teenage girls have struggled with teen pregnancy and don’t know that they have different options. Teens can choose from abortion, adoption, or decide to keep the child and raise it. There are many feelings that young teen girls get and some may feel like there alone. It’s important that young girl get an education on the options that they can choose from when there pregnant so they don’t regret the decision the made later in life. Teenage pregnancy is a hard thing to go through for anyone.
Abortion
Teenagers can get abortion when they find out they are pregnant. Abortion had declined a lot in the U.S. A study done by Guttmacher Institute said that “The teen abortion rate declined 66% between its 1988 peak and 2010 going from 43.5 abortions per 1,000 to 14.7 per 1,000”(guttmacher.org). Even though they have a child they still go to school and finish their education weather it is high school or college. On this show called teen mom this girl named Chelsey completed high school. After she was done with high school she went on to college to become a cosmetologist. Even though she dropped out a lot she keep going back until finally she graduated from college. Even though it took her a couple years she still got the rest of her education with a child. It may have been hard for her but she was still successful in getting an education and taking care of her daughter. This just proves that some young teenager that decide to keep their child do not give up and are
