In terms of education, I have always remained a determined learner. I believe going to university would certainly be the next step for me, going university will allow me to experience a new life. I have enjoyed all my units on my course; I am particularly interested in unit 4 business communications and unit 13 recruitment and selection. Linking business functions with theory. Research is a fundamental component of the course and I am able to use a variety of sources to validate business theories. My motive behind selecting business is that I predominantly love how business impacts everyday life. I have been studying business for a long time therefore my knowledge in this subject has increased.
Studying Business studies has greatly helped me to develop skills such as communication and personal development. I completed my work experience at Oxfam. My duties included inputting data on the computer. I also had the opportunity to attend meetings which increased my interest in running my own business as well as developing new skills. This experience helped me to discover and develop valuable skills. I work with a rolling team of 20, my role is to serve customers and take payments. I achieved a Magic Star for providing outstanding customer service. After completing 1 successful season I have been recommended by management to renew my contract again. On average approximately 7% of seasonal employees have their contracts renewed. Since working I have developed my confidence and problem solving skills such as resolving customer complaints and this job has shown me how important management skills are in order to keep the business tasks running efficiently.
