Oxford High School Bullying Policy

The word bullying means “a blustering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who habitually badgers or intimidates smaller or weaker people”. In other words, bullying is a person who picks on, and puts another person down. This can be verbal or physical, or even both. Bullies typically pick on people who are weaker than them. Bullying at Oxford High School is against the rules and there will be consequences. Therefor, Oxford High School is creating a bullying policy to prevent this and make the issue known.

Bullying is a very big issue at Oxford High school. It’s an issue everywhere. However, this issue will not be tolerated any longer. Oxford High School is creating a policy called The Anti-Bullying Policy. If a student is seen harassing, intimidating, or pushing another student around, they will immediately be sent to the principles office so that they can discuss the situation. If they continue to bully it will lead to more days of in school detention. After 3 times of going to in school detention for bullying someone they well get OSS (Out of school suspension). The parents of the child getting bullied will discuss changes to avoid this situation happening again. Depending on the type of bullying, the situation will be handled differently.

If the child is physical with another and the child isn’t physical back, the child being physical will have OSS and the parents of the child being picked on can press charges. If the bullying continues we will have to result to putting the child in SAFE. SAFE is one classroom full of students who choose not to behave themselves. We don’t want to expel students so we put them in this classroom where the students will not transition classes, so when the bell rings for each class period to change they will stay seated in the
