I did find the visit of great value, because it really opened my eyes of how different programs can be even if in the same local. It is inspiring to see where programs are and how much more potential they
I am thankful for my husband, my boys and my family.”
I hope your summer was just as good as mine. This summer I read the The Boys in the Boat, and I enjoyed the author’s details about how the olympics went upon their success. I was very surprised how the author was very detailed about the struggles they overcome. As I was reading, I thought of our team sports class and how Daniel James Brown’s descriptions of not giving up and working together as one related to our classes discussions about playing certain sports.
And I 've even gotten a few words in along the way. On Tuesday night, I was so happy to see that my Explainer-in-Chief is still on the job. I 'm also grateful to the rest of my family and the friends of a lifetime.
My name is Rachel Anne Brockman, born the 28th of March, 1976. I am a proud mother of six beautiful boys and one stepson. I am forty years old, and working towards acquiring my High School Diploma, which I 've struggled with getting in the past, so I can further my career and begin my life the right way. I 'm a pretty stubborn and independent person, loved by all, and hated by most. My interests are music, and singing, as it runs in my family.
The lessons I learned from the program have helped me guide my expectations for my future goals. It has taught me that I have the potential to do amazing things with
It was especially rewarding to see the outcome of the efforts, and play an instrumental role in bringing the resources to my
I loved this program, because it allowed me to get out there in my community and help give people with mental and/ or physical disabilities, live out there dream. From being a unified partner with their bowling team, to being a unified runner on their Track and field team, to just giving my time as a volunteer helping with the events logistics, it is one program, I am glad i'm affiliated
While I was here, I had so much fun. The first week all the upper-class students made it their mission to bring us out and show us what being on the team was like. Being on the team helped me develop a daily routine, that takes an exceptional amount of discipline to sustain. One way discipline was needed was when I would have to wake up for five am or 6 am lifts. This needed discipline because I would have to force myself to get up at those times.
My first summer phase was the turning point in my life because it showed everyone that I could do it on my own. Campus is my favorite place to be because I love the freedom to do as I wish and the enjoyment of accepting and being accepted by others. Much like the metamorphosis of young caterpillars into butterflies, I, too, went through an experience that allowed me to break free of my
My ultimate endeavor since attending community college has been my involvement in school, specifically with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. As an engineering major I am limited to a diminutive amount of free time, due to the quantity and difficulty of my classes. However, this limitation and the fact that my ride to school is a two hour trip on public transportation, has not stopped me from participating in extracurricular activities. Applying my time management and responsibility skills that I acquired from taking several math base classes at the same time, I managed to become a member of clubs and attain leadership roles. I first became the Vice President of Service, for Phi Theta Kappa and organized service events on campus and outside of campus.
For the rest of the night I felt euphoric; nothing could drag me down. One extremely intense month of practice and I achieved what I thought was initially impossible. Based on this, I formed a fresh outlook on challenges: I can accomplish anything I set my sights on so long as I work for it with everything I have. However flawed this view may be, it will serve me incredibly well over the next few
I would like to start off by saying some thank yous to those who made this day possible. To my parents for the much needed love and support To my family and friends and to the people who helped with my eagle project And thank you all for attending my court of honor Over the past 13 years, scouting has taught me a lot of things that will stay with me the rest of my life. It has taught me, don’t use gasoline to start a fire.
We were all sad, in a way, for this time together to end, but everyone had a wonderful time. My observations were very beneficial to me in my journey towards a career. I gained vital knowledge, positive advice, and relationships to last a
The overall semester definitely had its up’s and downs . As a Peer Mentor I have learned to appreciate my hardwork much more and also learned that speaking up a lot is key to key action to many things. One of my goals for the semester as a Peer Mentor was to get to know my peer mentees on a friendship level or maybe as acquaintances. That goal actually came true in a way because I only made three acquaintances only. Another goal I had throughout the semester was to go outside of my comfort zone a little, I really didn 't like to talk in front of the class.
