The Narco King Pablo Escobar was at one point one of the richest men in the world. At one-point, Escobar was making over 1 billion dollars a year (Flank). Although he made this much, most went to running his cartel. He was running one of the biggest cartels ever, the Medellin Cartel. Pablo Escobar was loved by many despite the bad things he did, and he still was viewed by people as Robin Hood because he took from the rich and gave to the poor (Flank). Escobar started smuggling in 1976. When he started smuggling drugs, he also started his cartel. His cartel got its name from the place it was started in, Medellin. The Medellin Cartel started in 1976 by doing illegal activities, such as drug trafficking. Pablo oversaw every interaction that the Medellin Cartel made.
