There are many core principles encompassed by the mission and values of Pacific University's Physician Assistant Studies program that I know will make Pacific University a great match for me. Ensuring high quality care for patients, valuing diversity, and lifelong learning of evidence based medicine are concepts that should be at the core of healthcare. Also important to me is the need to help underserved populations. Currently working as a medical assistant at a primary care physicians office in Hilo, Hawaii I work with many individuals from underserved communities of the island and I see the need for greater healthcare access in these areas, and I am now committed to continuing to help the underserved as I further my career.
Pacific University fits my educational and long-term goals in many ways. Specifically, Pacific University's atmosphere, campus security, facilities, and small class sizes fit into my goal of balancing all aspects of my life. For instance, the smaller class sizes would help me achieve a better understanding of the subjects that I am eager to learn and would allow me to receive teacher assistance more easily than at other large schools with class sizes over 500 students. Not only that, but the outdoor campus would help me balance my physical health and mental health because it reminds my of home with all the greenery and that it inspires me to be physically active. Equally important, Pacific’s academic curriculum fits into my goal of becoming
My job as a patient care technician allowed me to care for numerous individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Through this experience, I came to the realization that I loved people. I loved hearing their stories and the secret hopes and fears they would share with me in the dead of the night. I realized that I wanted to have a career where I could not only help people, but learn from them as well. I believe a career in the healthcare field would allow me to do this.
As a former transfer student, from Drew University, to say I’ve experienced a sense of disillusionment is an understatement. In the past I was unsure of and discontent with my previous college and career path. But when I entered Rutgers, Newark, University, I was astounded by the immense amount of opportunities I had. Something so foreign to the past me, I had a sense of impact unlike any I felt at prior institutions. I immediately became submerged with petitions, clubs, and organizations that were reaching out to me in a way other colleges had not.
I believe as a returning student to ISU, I had a unique experience in the class. I graduated with a degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services in May and decided that teaching was my true passion so I returned to Iowa State to begin earning that degree. I have worked for about four years for United Community Schools as a Lead Childcare Associate and as a Substitute Associate in both preschool and special education. Additionally, I have spent time as a Special Education Associate in Ankeny and have volunteered in Ames Community School District Classrooms. With my experience, I have spent a lot of time in schools and in classrooms.
Personal Statement As a Religious Studies major, whose future goal is to become an Islamic Studies professor, the Presidential Internship Program at the American University in Cairo is the best opportunity to experience the vast complexities of my academic field first-hand. Nowhere else will I have the chance to live abroad at such a respected while also being immersed in Arabic, Arab culture, and African Sufi Islam. In addition to my strong interest of the inner workings of university life, the Egyptian people, and the Middle East, I know I possess the qualifications to be a successful employee, dependable colleague, and true friend to those at the university. My experiences at home and abroad make me the perfect candidate for the position
Education has been something that has always been of importance to me. I graduated from Hercules High School in 2012 with honors (3.6 GPA). Doing so was a major accomplishment for myself. Upon applying for colleges, the only school I was accepted to was San Jose State University. I was a bit disappointed because after ranking the schools I applied to based on where I wanted to go, I determined that San Jose State was dead last on my list.
Throughout my time at USU, I have learned that learning is so much more than just sitting in a room listening to an adult drawl on in a monotonous tone about subjects that put me right to sleep. I have learned to find the love and passion I once had in classrooms where everyday is a mystery that I cannot wait to unfold. Thus it is seen that the purpose of college is to help students grow in every aspect which is accomplished through general education courses. Ever since I was young, I have found a profound love for knowledge.
I am writing this statement because it has been a goal of mine to attend the University of Chicago for a Master’s in Business Administration. I believe that this program will further develop the skills I have learned in the agricultural sector as well as my critical thinking ability to solve and manage issues within today's changing agribusiness field. I have always had an interest in business. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would always say a businesswoman, it varied occasionally from a CEO to a Stockbroker, I knew from a young age that I wanted to work in business. During my time in grade school, I was ridiculed for being too interested in group work and wanting to take charge and lead the group not only to success
I am seeking a Masters of Taxation from Golden Gate University to be able to transition my career to work in Big 4 public accounting. I believe that studying at Golden Gate University’s Braden School of Taxation would be instrumental in providing me the necessary skills and business acumen to begin my career as a CPA. Public accounting offers a unique set of challenges, but a rewarding career, advocating for clients in a wide variety of industries. I am interested in studying taxation because as a future CPA, I have strong problem solving skills to help people interpret complex and changing tax laws. I am passionate about providing a meaningful service that has such an important impact on individuals and businesses.
Coming overseas alone, I continue my academic life in the Pennsylvania State University, since I acknowledged that receiving education under an American education system would give me the access of the resources that I could never have in China. I determined the choice of the future path and strived out my path to the Pennsylvania State University, in where I achieved my 3.98 GPA, since I always prioritize my academic achievement first. To stand out among the candidates, I decided to choose Economics as my major, specializing quantitative and financial orientation, as well as two minors, Mathematics and Business, which would also cultivate my communication and quantitative skills. Besides some basic Economics courses, I chose the honor session
The reason why I apply for the University of Pittsburgh is that this university offers a doctorate program in STEM. A doctorate program in STEM can bridge my Bachelor’s in Physics and Master’s in Mathematics and Computer Science degrees. The School of Education is devoted to the Pittsburgh area educators and its constant evolving curriculum in education. I am also attracted to the fact the University of Pittsburgh School of Education is ranked the 30th “Best Graduate School in Education” in 2016 by U.S. News & World Report. I attended Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physics minoring in Mathematics.
When people comprehend quantitative values or scientific and mathematical ideas, they tend to rather try and understand them individually, whereas I am naturally inclined to connect the pieces of an abstract puzzle at once. To maximize my potential, I desire a school that will push my STEM wired mind to new heights. This university will be a wonderful learning opportunity because I will be able to work with some of the most distinguished math and science professors in the country. Moreover, I will be given the opportunity to partake in numerous research projects throughout the years. I believe that the engineering programs here at Carnegie Mellon University are an ideal fit for me to extend on and develop the variety of skills that I have developed
Being a fan of the University of Michigan was impressed on me at an early age and something that I consider to be at the core of my identity. My father, an undergraduate alumnus, has always spoken about the University of Michigan with great admiration. My earliest memories are those of watching Michigan football games with him on television. Normally reserved, soft-spoken, and difficult to excite, my father would transform into a boisterous fan on game days. He would enthusiastically shout at the television, watch each play with focused intention and create a palpable dynamism that was transferred to me.
As I grow older and more mature, one thing I have not let go is my childlike mesmerization in computers. Although I currently understand each individual piece of the computer, the sum of its parts is truly something magical. What goes on in this mysterious box when I do my work? How does pressing “G” on my keyboard create the letter “G” on my screen? How does the screen turn on at all?
