In 1859, Charles Darwin theorized in his book On the Origin of Species that organism changes over time through natural selection (“Evolution”). After this theory was made, many people tried to find evidences that would be able to support the Theory of Evolution. There have been several examples of evidence in the areas of geology, genetic, and paleontology. Many paleontologists also have been trying to prove Evolution by unearthing several paleontological evidences, which is evidence from the study of fossils that shows that living things that once existed became extinct through evolution (“Evolution”). However, even though the theory has been supported by numerous paleontological evidences, some people still tend to oppose the Theory of Evolution. The critics of the theory contend that most of the paleontological evidence are inaccurate and therefore assert that it would be careless and incorrect to conclude that evolution is real. Scientists believe that “Fossils of familiar organisms such as cnidaria (Jellyfish), echinoderms (Feather stars), precursors of the fishes , and other vertebrates were found in marine sediments” (“Marine ecosystem”). Paleontological evidence, Odontochelys semitestacea, was found, which was assumed to be the ancestor of a modern turtle. The discovery of Odontochelys semitestacea, led to the construction of several hypotheses. One of the hypotheses suggested that turtles evolved into an early divergence from the Diapsida, which is a species of reptile. Another hypothesis is that “turtles were closely related to lizards and tuataras” (“Turtle”). By a DNA analysis, it was supposed that turtles were in a similar group of archosaurs, a group that includes the dinosaur as its ancestors and includes relatives such as crocodiles and modern
