In relation to warfare, Collins likewise greatly writes about the horrors of the present-day totalitarian regimes. In Panem, like in “all totalitarian societies,” the government’s power is through its ability to oppress,“manipulate media, and control the flow of information.” Because the Capitol only shows the districts portions of information from around Panem, the districts are not able to get accurate information. The different districts (i.e. today’s societies) are manipulated by the people in power, which greatly diminishes the opportunity of escaping and/or creating a revolution. Through the misinformation provided to her, Katniss needs to relearn everything about the Capitol. By relearning everything, Katniss provides herself a greater
