Executive overview Panera Bread is an US chain that makes bakery products, sandwiches, and salads. Another name is it known as is St. Louis Bread Company. It is a bakery-café fast casual restaurant that is located in the United States and Canada. Panera has 1,972 bakery-cafes in 46 states, the District of Columbia, and in Ontario Canada. They pride themselves on delivering fresh warm bread in an engaging environment. Analysis Panera Bread’s mission and vision statement is “A loaf of bread in every arm”. These statements don’t clearly show what strategy Panera Bread is pursing. And they have cost advantages over rivals, and their menu prices has lower costs and high quality that supply fresh baked bread every morning. On the other hand, they have different locations and franchises that meet the customer’s wants. Also, they offer a training programs to their employees that help to serve their customers. At the same time, the weakness of their brand name is less known than some of their rivals as Starbucks. They have a very strict list of criteria that makes it difficult to qualify, and unable to increase the frequency of which customers dine at their eatery.
