Abstract --

In this voting system,the voter identity card is replaced by smart card in which all the detail of the person is updated.Only the specified person can poll using their smart card. Here the smart card reader reads the smart card and the details of that person is displayed, then it asks for verification which is irish recognition. If the irish pattern matches then the person can poll.The person is allowed to poll once using this smart card.Once we voted,if we use smart card again,the smart card reader will access the cards but it will give a beep sound which indicates that the person has already voted.

Widely used before the introduction of Electronic Voting System. Paper ballot system includes casting the vote using the paper and the stamp. Each voter uses one ballot, and ballots are not shared. In regular elections, a ballot may be a simple piece of paper on which each voter writes in the name of a candidate, but governmental elections uses pre-printed sheets to maintain the secrecy of the votes[5]. The voter casts his/her ballot in a box at the polling station.

Advantages of Paper Ballot Voting System:

The paper ballot system gives a simplest way to cast vote. Illiterate people can also cast their vote easily. No need to guide the individual.The system is very much affordable than the electronic system as the major requirements are only paper and a ballot box which are provided by the election commission

Disadvantages of Paper Ballot Voting System: This system is very much time consuming and slow.It was the major type of electoral fraud found in India. Once the voting schedule is over, the result of the election cannot be declared immediately. The lever assignment for each candidate is identified by printed strips which is visible to the voters. For unvoted position, the levers are horizontal.The voters enters the booth by opening the curtain with the help of lever and it automatically returned to theit original position.
