Paris is one of the world 's most beautiful cities, and has something to offer every traveler, no matter what you 're into. If you need some convincing to add Paris to your summer travel plans, here are four reasons to follow Hepburn 's advice.
Cultural Paradise

Paris is a highly walkable city with great public transportation, so it 's easy to feel like a local. It also means you 'll be immersed in the culture of the city throughout your visit. See UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Marie Antoinette 's prison cell at La Conciergerie, or the opulent Palace of Versailles, where Louie XIV ruled. Head underground to explore the catacombs, lined with the bones of the city 's history. Pay your respects to the fallen at the Place de la Concorde, built in 1763 by Louis XV, former home to the guillotine, and now a makeshift memorial to honor those who died at the Bataclan Theater in November of last year.
Art in Abundance

Paris is home to some of the world 's most famous works of art, housed in equally famous museums. Of course there 's the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo at the Louvre. But you 'll find smaller crowds and equally stunning pieces at the Musée Rodin, Musée d 'Orsay, and the Centre Pompidou, Europe 's largest modern art museum.
