Park Inn Hotel This is a overview of the Historical Park Inn Hotel. The construction and reconstruction. Most information up to date and with dates.Only imagination limits the possibilities.The end and beginning starts now.
This grand structure was envisioned.Full of Frank Lloyd Wright’s amazing art ideas. Stained glass and great furniture just amazing! This was just dream for the fantastic Frank Lloyd Wright until the construction of this building began in April 1909. Mr.Wright stayed to watch its construction until departing to Europe in the late October that year. Mr.William Drummond from his studio in Oak Park, Illinois came to oversee the construction of the Park Inn after Frank left. While he made his Prairie home nearby the site. Forcing the Inn to subsidive into rental apartments!Than the stained glass, furniture, and furnishings had been striped leaving the place feeling quite empty.Ending its reign with its closure in 1972. Until one day some people felt like being very generous.The Park Inn Hotel has given a complete interior and exterior renovation thanks to numerous grants.Over used by Wright at the Park Inc. They bought over the adjacent City Bank Building and merged them together.Built with a new elevator and six additional rooms for the hotel.The old bank lobby is the new ballroom for the Park Inn Hotel.In September 2011 the restoration was completed and the Park Inn Hotel was back in Mason City for good this time and with more places to saty in then ever. Now as this structure stands tall again we know that it will not fail again.Only if Wright could see his work now.He would be proud to see his imagination put to use.It truly is a “work on
