Party Scene at Myrtle’s and Tom Apartment The Great Gatsby talks about in the book the party room in a different way then it does in the movie. In the next couple pages Im going to talk about the different ways that they talk about the party room. The Great Gatsby film was under the direction of Baz Luhrman’s. The Great Gatsby book was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. As in this essay I will give my opinion on what one I like better when they describe the party room. The first thing im going to talk about is the scene at Myrtle’s and Tom’s apartment. In the film you can see the different things that are in the film. Im going to talk about the things that seen in the scene of the party at Myrtles and toms. First off I'm going to talk about the thing that caught my attention the most was the bead strips hanging from the doorways and the celling. The strings of beads where not only hanging down a foot the also where hanging down all the way to the ground in some places. The couches and sofas in the scene are kinda of like a flower design on them. I think that they look halfway terrible in the movie but thats what may of been popular back then. …show more content…

They do not give you an good ideal of whats in Myrtle and toms apartment they mainly just say that they are gong to myrtle and toms for the party. They don't give you the details of how the apartment is setup and what all is in there. In the chapter Gatsby does not say that he has been “drunk not only once but twice and that this time was better then that first time he was drunk.” The book can give you some reason about the apartment where the party is being held at. But I still believe that the movies best talks about it since Gatsby gives his few words.
