Booker rubbed his sweaty hands together and nervously glanced around the room. This was the night; Pastor Gentle had set up a school-sponsored banquet for the young men to bring a date in order for them to get to know each other better. He had a date and couldn't believe it, but he was very nervous. Hundreds of thoughts were tumbling through his head. What will I say? Will she think I am friendly? How does she expect me to act? Will I remember my manners or do something embarrassing? Will I leave a good impression? He tried to quiet the thoughts running through his head, but it didn't help; he still didn't know what to talk about.
