In Laverne Cox Spark 2018 speech she uses a lot of pathos and ethos to express herself or to show representation of others. She also uses great syntax and diction. She uses parallelism to represent her syntax. She does this so we can get a feel of her pain and the things she went through. With her diction, she stated words that you wouldn't state. It helps bring her trauma and her values to another light so we can not only see but feel where she is coming from. In Laverne's Cox “Spark 2018”, she shows pathos. It shows her emotions and when the audience reads it, the audience also feels emotions. In the quote, "I grew up being bullied and so most of my life I've dealt with being harassed on the street, being bullied, and it had just gotten to a point where it was so hard.” Laverne is sharing her story and recalling some things that happened to her. She didn't want to live because of the things she had to go through growing up. She had to understand herself before anyone else could understand her. The other quote was “I should not be referred to by any or name and my gender pronouns are she and her.
