How is it effective? As mentioned in the question above, Queen Elizabeth I conveys her emotion when she says how weak of a person she is, but on the other hand, she is a powerful person: “I know I have the body but of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too.” (Example of pathos) It is effective because she feels as if her soldiers might feel sorry for her.
