On January 29, 1991, a vile crime occurred in the Heikkila home in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Twenty-year-old Matthew Heikkila, the adopted son of Richard and Dawn Heikkila loaded up a “sawed-off 20-gauge shotgun” (Sullivan). He labeled shotgun shells “Mom” and “Dad”, and shot his parents both in the head. Matthew plotted the murder to get the chance to steal his parent’s credit cards, and treat his girlfriend to a birthday dinner. Matthew then left his parent’s dead bodies on the floor of his home and he and his girlfriend enjoyed a night in NYC.
The public has reacted with incredulity that the court’s definition of behaviour showing “innocence of murder” could include the extended deception and dishonest conduct of this man, who has continued, day after day, month after month, year after year to conceal the truth about his wife’s death (Couriermail 2016). The success of Baden-Clay’s appeal in turn, influences others in similar situations of spouse homicide and not only allows but encourages this deceptive behaviour. This would surely be detrimental to all of Queensland society and create an unsafe culture by opening this type of opportunity for future homicides and killings if all it takes to win a spouse homicide case was to dispose of the body so that there is no recognisable signs of trauma and enough evidence to be convicted of

He confessed that the murders were due to him being in a hit squad for a satanic cult. He committed these crimes with his friend, Otis Toole.
During the fall of 1993, Shirley Crook’s, a loving mother and wife, life was horribly cut short in one of the most horrific ways possible, drowning. Seventeen year old, Christopher Simmons, wrapped his victim in duct tape and electrical cords and drowned her in a river with help from his accomplices John Tessmer and Christopher Benjamin. He attempted to burglarize the Crooks residence along with his accomplices, and he only murdered Mrs. Crooks because ‘the bitch seen my face’ (State v. Simmons). He “assured his friends that their status as juveniles would allow them to ‘get away with it.’... Brian Moomey, a 29-year-old convicted felon who allowed neighborhood teens to "hang out" at his home.
Homicides are unlike many others, since one’s intentions are discrete as soon as they have a reason to murder. Threatened obligations are innumerable due to the character's personality and their way of thinking into certain circumstances, although a distinct detail can affect the situation. When little to none consequences have any impact to the “murderer” who caused victim's injury, or death, they are responsible regardless of what their intentions are. For instance, a distressed officer, U.S. Marshal Edward Mars, pleaded to end his miserable life due to the pain he was suffering from the shrapnel. Everyone in the camp suggests the cruel deed.
On the morning of February 18, 1983 in Chickasha, Oklahoma the body of Charles Keene was found in the Washita River, putting a traumatic end to the twenty-seven day search for his body. It was immediately clear that this man had suffered a very drawn out and painful death. His body was pulled from the Washita River along with a cement block that was chained to his body. He was slit open from his throat to his abdomen, he had a broken leg with a bullet hole through his head and another that went through his chest. He also had multiple bruises and abrasions with the main focus of them being on and around his face and head.

Although, The report show that the young man was raised in a healthy and supportive home with his mother and father. In spite of this, Justin expresses to his psychiatrist his impulse and desire for inflicting pain on others; he claims to have no remorse for the murder of Eric Levrack. Not to mention, He also voiced to former classmates that "Eric was annoying, always invading his space. "As a matter of fact, after the killing on April 1, 2003, Morton had turned himself in, he described the event as an open game of trust just before he strangled Eric with a belt.
Mary Maloney is a very loving and devoted house wife and mother-to-be. Though her dream of having the perfect American family was destroyed by the bewildering news of Patrick choosing another women over Mary and their child. Innocent is all Mary Maloney is, due to her indistinct state of mind caused by her heinous husband’s decision to desert her and her child while she is unable to control her emotions due to her being pregnant. Mary is not guilty of murder instead innocent due to diminished capacity.

Gothic Literature, both traditional and contemporary are sources of unpredictable, mysterious entertainment. For example, ‘The Signalman’ written in 1866 by Charles Dickens utilises the setting, imagery and symbolism, as well as the theme of supernatural to generate the tension in the story. On the other hand, ‘Lamb to the Slaughter’ written by Roald Dahl exploits intense emotions such insanity and the theme of reality to conceive suspense. Both writers successfully integrate mystery into the stories to provoke suspense. To begin with, the setting in ‘The Signalman’ is used to generate thriller, especially the creepy, isolated tunnel and the Signalman’s post.
The Incident In 1998, Dr. Linda Reynolds of the Brooke Surgery in Hyde reached to John Pollard, who was the coroner for the South Manchester District, about Dr. Harold Shipman’s high rate of deaths of all of his patients. This was brought to the police attention and the police did not pay so much attention to it, assigning some of the newer police officers, which of course had little experience in being a police officer. These assigned police officers were unable to find enough evidence to charge Dr. Harold Shipman. Shipman’s investigation was then dropped and that same year Shipman killed 3 more people, with last victim being Kathleen Grundy, whose death certificate was recorded by Shipman stating that the cause of death was “old age.”
In the Victorian era the common was life for a man and woman was that the man work in the fields while the woman stayed in the house cleaning and cooking. In “Trifles” by Susan Glaspell Minnie Foster was found sitting in her chair knitting while the investigator found her husband strangled to death in their bed. With the lack of response from Minnie Foster it was completely obvious that she did the crime and was handcuffed and sent to the jail while they began to investigate the crime scene. Now the real question everyone was asking why she did what she did. Insanity is the criminal in this situation Minnie Foster was just a house wife how fell ill to insanity.
