Patriotic Billboard

This patriotic billboard focuses on a growing problem in the United States, the lack of faith. The billboard states “Anti-God is Anti-American, Anti-American is Treason, Traitors lead to Civil War”. This relates to how the American society is constantly being plagued with violence, because of the lack of faith.

The exigence of this advertisement is how people are not believing in god, which leads to conflict. The audience is directed towards “lunatic atheists and their lawyers” as stated in the attention line, but can also be directed towards people who are not active within their church. The goal of this advertisement is to have more people believing in God and attending church.

The logos of this piece is if people don’t believe in god then war will occur. This also appeals to people’s emotions by creating a guilty conscious for people who don’t believe. One of the elements used is emphasis and this is demonstrated through the use of bold red words on the billboard’s white background. Narration is another element that is used. This is displayed in the attention line and in the lines stating “Anti-God is Anti-American, Anti-American is Treason, Traitors lead to Civil War". The point of view is based off of the fact that the only people seeing this sign are Americans and many Americans do not like being classified as Anti-American. The arrangement of the billboard helps support the patriotic theme with the American flag in the background. The color theme is very effective since it focus on red, white and blue, these colors are a symbol for the American flag.
