How can writers be taught to use for writing in a format suggested by English educators. Providing essay formats help writers organize their thoughts along with separating any unnecessary information. Educators insist that student’s practice writing in formats, so that their papers could be presentable to the readers. Writers such as Paul Prior, Nancy Sommers, and Anne Lamott gave readers a discrete amount of suggestions on how to prepare a paper. Paul Prior has a ‘go with the flow’ type of mindset, while following the guidelines for essay organizations. Nancy Sommers found that a plenty number of students probably are not going to receive the essential help they need with their revision that listed tips that can help students become sophisticated writers. Students often think of revision as a re-wording activity that is not as a process of preparing a paper. When students revise their paper they still have not figured out the problem of how and/or why they are having to revise it. Their paper was either too narrow or needs to elaborate on a few details. In Sommers’ article she feels that students need to be inspired, this allows them to gather their thoughts which can probably reduce errors in their writing. Anne Lamott also agrees more with Nancy Sommers’ views, consequently rather than Paul Prior’s ideas. For Lamott, she finds that most people probably will not receive the average and/or beyond average grade the first time. Students’ first drafts are often not what the instructor wants. In my opinion, I would agree with both Nancy Sommers’ along with Anne Lamott’s views, as a student their ideas/theories accommodate to my learning style, how I generate my own papers. I also agree with a few details of Paul Prior’s theories; he suggests that student should practice in their natural setting. As for Paul Prior, he uses steps that did not suit to my style on how I prepare/write my paper. As a student, feeling that there is no such thing as a perfect paper. In my own opinion the word “perfect” is a little far-fetched as well as overrated. When most people have ‘constructive criticism’, their views vary. Meaning most people are inclined to their own ideas on what a subject is supposed to be. In student opinions they could write the best well-written paper in the class; the instructor or Advisors will still say that something is missing. This does not mean that the paper was not fairly graded but nothings perfect. One way for students to draw in their readers is fluffing their paper. Fluff or fluffing is how the writers are able to draw their readers in by adding interesting information that pertains to the paper. This adds spice in the paper and /or adding flavor towards their
