When a person steps onto a college campus, they are surrounded by so many things. Illegal music downloads have become one of the main issues that you will face. Once someone finds a great place to “get free music”, it quickly spreads among the students. Everyone likes free stuff but many times people do not consider the fact that it really is not free. College students love music and when everyone lives so close to each other, it is a lot easier to share the illegal downloads or find them to download your own tracks.
I do not think that Payola should be allowed. Every artist wants their music to be played but not all of them can afford to do so when Payola is the only way to be played. Radio stations should make an effort to play new music that fits in their genre regardless

I truly believe that one reason was because he saw the corruption that was the music industry. If you see what is going on with payola, then you realize that our music industry is very corrupt. I also think that his other motive was so that he could make a bigger name for himself in the public’s eye. A case like this would make anyone famous. While it was a good thing to get involved in, one must ask themselves what other things went unnoticed that should have been addressed while Spitzer was busy fighting payola.
This is a very interesting case to examine. Illegal digital downloads are everywhere and one must always be very careful to make sure that they are downloading music legally. There are many ways to do so and it helps everyone out. Payola is a big issue as well where music is concerned. There are a lot of really good musicians out there that the world may never hear because they cannot afford to pay people off to play their music.
