World War II was the second global war in the 1900s. At the start of the war, America was neutral. The attack on Pearl Harbor happened during World War II. As a result of the bombing of Pearl Harbor forced America to enter World War II.
Pearl Harbor is a U.S. naval base near Honolulu, Hawaii which was the scene of a devastating surprise attack by Japanese forces on December 7, 1941. Today, Pearl Harbor remains as a military base, headquarters of the Pacific fleet. Pearl Harbor was named after the lot of pearls once found within its protected waters. Tourists still visit Pearl Harbor today to honor those who fought on the ship when it was attacked. The ship exploded and sank with 1,000 men trapped inside.

The United States began passing economic endorsements against Japan. To Japan, war with the United States had become to be irresistible. Destroying the base at Pearl Harbor would mean that Japan controlled the Pacific in May, 1940. Japan’s surprise attack would drive the United States insane and would lead them into World War II.
