Peewee’s Pet Adoption World and Sanctuary was established in 1995 and became an operational animal shelter on May 1997. Peewee’s currently houses over 450 animals in the Corpus Christi, Texas community. Peewee’s is a non-profit organization, which means that they are tax exempt under the Internal Revenue Sector 501 (c) and do not receive governmental funding and security. Most of their profits and revenue comes from donations, pet adoption fees, and volunteers. Peewee’s is also a no-kill shelter, which means that the shelter does not kill healthy or treatable animals when the shelter is full. Euthanasia is only used for animals that are terminally ill or those considered dangerous to public safety.

In this market strategy, Peewee’s needs to determine where they want to market, the target market, create a social media marketing campaign, and figure out the costs and benefits. Adapting to the advancements of social media marketing is the cheapest, fastest, and most effective way to reach adopters, donors, and volunteers. Another research problem is to figure out how other animal shelters showcase their services on social media. Peewee’s also needs to figure out what organizations they can work with to market their services and what are the incentives. Specifically, these groups so that an appropriate sample can be selected. Example local non-profit organizations in the area and find out what marketing tools they are using. Also work with local universities to hold pet events to promote Peewee’s services and gain volunteers. In addition to that, Peewee’s needs to provide incentives for volunteers. Incentives such as providing shelter and care for animals not suitable for adoption, for the duration of the animal’s lives. Another incentive is to operate a low-cost spray/neuter clinic to help reduce the number of strays in our community.
