Since Hades is Lord of the Underworld and god of wealth, the author created a meaningful comparison between Hades, Germany, and Japan. An example of this comparison would be when Hitler dictated Germany. Under Hitler's rule, Germany was transformed into a fascist totalitarian state which controlled nearly all aspects of life. Hitler had a belief that no non-Germans should have any say in Germany. He did not believe that Jews could be Germans and that communism was a huge threat to Germany and should be destroyed. He thought that communism was a Jewish invention and that was another reason why he hated the Jews. Because Germany took the lives of many innocent Jews under Hitler’s rule, Hades, the ruler of the Underworld, was naturally chosen to be the one who represents this nation. Also, in the traditional stories of Greek mythology between the Big Three, Hades was frequently jealous of Zeus’s power, just like how Germany wanted to annihilate America’s navy with the bombing of Pearl Harbor because it feared that America’s power would tip the balance and defeat the Axis
