Percy Jackson is a boy that goes on a journey with his friends to retrieve the lightning bolt which he is being accused for stealing. On his journey he passes through a lot of challenges and things he has never seen before. Percy only has ten days to get the bolt and return it to Zeus. With this information about Percy Jackson, I will firstly be stating the biggest difference in the book, after I will talk about the biggest difference in the movie, lastly I will decipher whether if I like the book or the movie better. A main difference between the book and the movie is the existence of Ares; in the book Ares has been introduced substantially and described well. While in the movie, Ares isn’t even shown or well defined. Ares is the god of war he was a huge guy and he looked wicked, when they meet Ares he sends Percy, Annabeth, and Grover on a side quest to retrieve his shield, and in return he said he would tell something about Percy’s mom. Turns out at the end that Ares is the one who stole the bolt and helm of darkness because it was in the bag he gave them, the two artifacts appeared when they entered Hades house, he didn't steal it himself though Luke had them at first then Ares stole them both from Luke (which he was busted for). Persephone's pearls were these three marbles that when you crush them with your feet, you teleport to wherever you need or want to go, this map was their only hope of retrieving the pearls. The map was their main quest; they retrieve these pearls in order to escape the underworld, when they enter it. The reason Persephone hid these pearls throughout the world was because she wanted secret visitors and because she was kind of lonely (she was forced to marry Hades).
