Introduction Psychology has been used for a long time to understand human behaviour. Basically, this is how human beings react to various stimuli. The reaction can originate from a past experience, for instance, death, sickness, and so forth. In the book The Perk of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (2012), Charlie can be seen to be faced by psychological problems. Charlie is the major character in the novel. Charlie is a lone ranger. Charlie has a mental disorder. He is seen to be struggling a lot to live a normal life. He is disturbed by memories of his experience in the hands of his aunt Helen. He does not however blame her. Charlie blames himself for the death of his aunt Helen because he thinks that she died because she really loved him. He is also disturbed by the death of his friend Michael. The treatment for psychological disorder lies in our understanding that human beings are social beings. This concept is elaborated by the social psychology theory.
