B. How was the trauma cycle portrayed in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower? In the perks of being a wallflower Charlie receives help from his friends, his English teacher and his therapist. Friends, teachers and therapists/counselors are good places to receive help but other services like Kids help phone 1-800-668-6868 and the big brother big sister program (Home | Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada) exist to help those being abused. For those lucky enough to be uninvolved in the trauma cycle it is important that they prevent their children from being abused and becoming part of the trauma cycle. It is the duty of parents to keep their children safe, creepy relatives, friends and neighbors should be kept as far from your children as possible. Reinforce ideas like stranger danger, don't abuse your own children and don’t abuse others in front of your children. A child is over 135 times more likely to be sexually abused in the school system than in the church. Know the signs and symptoms of abuse, help those who are abused and keep your children safe, this is how the trauma cycle can be
