Well known at the time, Josephine Baker, gave a heartfelt speech at the walk on Washington. Josephine was the only female speech presenter, but still gave an amazing performance. The speech related to almost every soul in the crowd of 250,000. The anecdotes used almost definitely got across to all of the listeners, and got to their feelings. Through many generations of teenagers they have all replicated the importance to our younger generation about how the choices and steps that now will shape us and who we are going to be in the future. “The Dark Horse” directed by James Napier Robertson, shows us the example of how we should always choose by what we think is right for us and not what other people want us to choose through peer pressure. “The Outsiders” by Graeme Lay replicates to us how when making choices we need to consider the effects on not just us, but to the ones that are around us, and to not be so selfish. It also talks about the main character ‘Karl Sikowsky” and how he had left his “lover” Justine due to his obsession to surfing and he does not want to live a reality

Scout, in the beginning, dramatizes her life occurrences while being naive towards realistic issues such as racism. From the near beginning, page 16, “Jem gave a reasonable description of Boo: Boo was about six-and-a-half feet tall, judging from his tracks; he dined on raw squirrels and any cats he could catch, that’s why his hands were bloodstained – if you ate an animal raw, you could never wash the blood off.” As shown in the excerpt, scout believed in childish tall-tales and rumors at the start of the story. She did not notice, or care, how dramatized these rumors were. Another example from pages 20 and 21, “Jem was careful to explain that during school hours I was not to bother him, I was not to approach him with requests to reenact a chapter of Tarzan and the Ant Men, to embarrass him with references to his private life, or tag along behind him at noon.”
It isn’t easy for a Jew to live in Nazi Germany. Especially if you lost your whole family. I now live in basement belonging to Liesel and her foster parents. It is unfair, if you ask me. Jews have to live in the basement and eat leftovers if lucky, while Germans live in luxurious mansions and eat their full and even more.
High school isn’t necessarily the best four years of everyone’s life. In a short time the audience was shown the complicated endeavors many teenagers either overcome or become wrapped up in. In Sam Mendes’ Academy-Award winning film American Beauty, life in American suburbia is portrayed. The tagline of the film, “American Beauty…look closer”, is the perfect way to describe the film. In this speech, given by William Pitt on the Excise Bill, at House of Commons on March 1763, he really wanted to claim for the rights of the poorest, colonists, patriots and quakers of America against the King George II. “The poorest man” symbolizes the colonists. “his cottage” means their rights and “the rain; storm; wind” are referring to the injustice they lived in. because of the king of England. The smell of chlorine hurt my nose. I panicked my way to the emergency room with my uncle and brother, holding my mother’s hand, I know she will feel safe when I’m with her. “Please don’t save me,” She wept as she spoke. Her voice was assured, as if she had already made the decision. I tightened my grip to prevent myself from losing her in my hands.
