There are a variety of different ways to tell stories and get a point across to the reader. Persepolis is written as a graphic novel. A few reasons why it's more effective to convey Marjane's story by writing it as a graphic novel is because it helps the reader visualize what they’re reading as well as staying interested. It also helps the see the character’s feelings by looking at the facial expression. The book tells a story about the war against Iran and Iraq and the people's struggles living in Iran at the time.

One of the few reasons the graphic novel is conveying the story more effectively than a regular book is because it helps the reader picture what’s going on while they’re reading. The reader will be able to understand what they're reading as well as visualize easier. Not only will it be easier to read, but the author and reader will have the same visualization and have similar ideas of what something looks like. It also helps the reader visualize a scene easier as well. For example, on page 75, it shows a comparison between fundamentalist women and modern women as well as the men. It was easier to show a picture rather than trying to explain the details of the the two different types of people. By reading it in a format such as this, it makes it more enjoyable to read for someone who doesn’t enjoy reading as much. By doing this it gets the point across for people who doesn’t want to read textbooks and a good way to get information. By the book being interesting will make the reader want to learn more because if they're interested, they will want to learn and read more about what’s going
