I have been singing since I can remember and while I've never had professional lessons, I've been a part of various exclusive, intense music groups in high school. I began teaching myself to play guitar in December of 2011 and since then, I've also taught myself ukulele and bass. I am currently enrolled in AP Music Theory and have been taking theory classes since the tenth grade. During my second semester of eleventh grade, I took a music theory and composition course in which I learned to use Logic Pro X. I love electronic music and it has inspired and influenced me creatively. I am always searching for new innovative music acts, some of my recent discoveries being SOPHIE, Allie X, and Danny L Harle. Just listening to music influences how I think about and create music. My expansive taste allows me to enjoy and understand every genre of music, which gives me the ability and freedom to create music that doesn't fall neatly into categories. My goal is to be a songwriter and producer. I really enjoy writing, whether it's poetry, plays/screenplays, short stories, or journalling; it is cathartic and liberating and so essential to my being. I have such an immense appreciation for lyrics with depth; I find that when listening to my favorite artists, I am not only moved by beautiful melodies, but also by thought provoking lyrics. I also appreciate well produced music; there is a substantial deal of power in production and without talented producers, many of the best songs, despite great writing would simply not be as great.
