Terminology
Vernacular- a design meant for a specific area, tradition or language
Craft production is the process of manufacturing by hand with or without the aid of tools. The term Craft production refers to a manufacturing technique applied in the hobbies of handicraft but was also the common method of manufacture in the pre-industrialized world, such as in the production of pottery.
Cultural Flattening occurs when culture is treated as a commodity. History behind cultural tradition is overlooked, allowing cultures to be stereotyped and commercialized. Removing cultural context has been caused by globalization,

The asili design is a vernacular design as is meant and created for specific people; the peasants. 6Blue Ming – the chair was designed using paper and cardboards and was made through use of hands for craftsmanship.
