I was born in Vietnam. I was a carefree little kid. I had no responsibility, but one day my dad sat me down and said that “we're moving to America”, and of course this news devastated me. For two months I tried to push away the fact that i'll be leaving my friends and family. I finally talked to my teacher, and she helped me get motivated to go to America. We moved to America in the beginning of the summer. I had time to get used to things for example, getting settled in with the family. Soon summer ended and school started. Learning English was very difficult but I manage to learn it under a year. It wasn't perfect English, but I knew how to speak, listen, and understand English. What helped give me the strength to do this was my friend who gives me their shoulder to rely on, My teacher who motivated me, and made me who I am, and my brother who was the final piece that helped me achieve my goal. …show more content…
I tried to hang out with everyone I knew as much as possible it was fun, but Soon after I had to talk to somebody about it. My teacher was one of my best friends, and she was one of the people’s I looked up to, she knows what it felt like to move to another country because she came to Vietnam from French.
