Alondra Sanchez Identity. What is identity? What do we, as a society, see “identity” as? Identity is merely seen as fact of being who or what a person or thing is. But in reality, it is probably more than one fact. More than one facts adds up to personality. In English class, we were told to do an “Identity box” to collage it into something that defines who you are. During the ages of today, we, teenagers, have a hard time trying to identify who we are, what we like, and who we hang out with. With the media that we have at the snap of our fingers(Twitter,Instagram Facebook, Youtube etc.) we get influenced every second. Either it was a picture that the Kardashians posted of them drinking Aquafina water, or Justin Bieber eating Mentos, we start eating the things that famous people eat. Why? Because were are that easily influenced, and by doing so, we instantly become someone like them. At least that is what we think. I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. In the Young Women Program, we are taught to be ourselves. We are taught to be unique, and make things that are insignificant personal. I knew what things I portrayed about myself, and I knew what things I had to keep to myself. On the outside of my box, I have the pictures of things that are easily famous within the “pop culture” boundaries. For example, I have some bands I like to listen to, and most people would, (Fall Out Boy, Blink 182, Arctic Monkeys, All Time Low, etc.) Meanwhile, in the inside, I have a quite rare things and more personal themes.
