I am very open to any new meditation experiences and practises since I try to do some types of meditation when I am stressed out or when I can’t focus. Since coming to Walford, throughout my time in religion classes I have been shown a couple of quick forms of meditation I have used numerous times since. Prayer Beads: At first I was a little confused about how we were going to use prayers beads to meditate. When Reverend Tracey started to explain what we were going to do I was sceptical that it would be my type of meditation but as I slowly understood more and more it became much easier to focus and relax my mind. I also choose to change the words so that it was more personal and so that I connected to the meditation more. I think I would have just preferred to listen to the music instead of having visuals in front of me as well. I did loose focus sometimes and just stare at the colours and sort of zone out for a while but I would always find myself just closing my eyes or looking at something else. Smile: I use this style of meditation a lot outside of school even before we did this topic in RE. I sometimes do it without realising because I know that it works for me. I know that it feels silly for some people to do it and I would feel self conscious doing it in public but when im walking home or driving somewhere I’ll subconsciously do it because it stretches my cheeks when they get stiff from having a blank face for sometime. Spot Meditation: Massage: I get headaches a lot during school due to my posture and when I sit in a chair doing work for a long time my neck will tighten up and this causes my headaches so I have to constantly massage the back of my neck to try and reduce the tension and relieve my headaches. It also wakes me up a little so I like doing this one closer to the end of the
