First and foremost graduating on February 27th 2015 with Class 002 of The Massachusetts Trial Court Officer Academy has to be my initial goal. Without completing this academy all the additional personal goals I have set for myself will mean nothing. Setting personal goals is my way to achieve the hard to reach accomplishments I strive for. Although there may be one main objective, before I can reach it, I set many “step goals” to focus on along the way. My first set of “step goals” was the application, résumé, and interview process to which I sought out a person I knew whose job was to read résumés and conduct interviews for the company Lockheed Martin. Meeting and passing the physical fitness standard was at the top of my list. Although I technically have accomplished this objective I realize it is not good enough. I passed by points which is a relief however, I am still chasing the four setups I need to actually pass and I will continue chasing my fitness goals surpassing even the standard set by the academy. Another academy standard is academic grade average. Currently I am tied for 6th place in the class but hope to rise up and graduate in the top five percent. To accomplish this I will be attentive in classes, attend study groups and study whenever possible. And last but not least teamwork. I strive to be a team player by giving my all when the task at hand is one of my strengths as to help someone who the task may be a weakness. I have given encouragement when needed, stayed behind during personal time to help recruits study, given boot shining lesions and Ironed uniforms for others that were busy with other assignments. My plan is to work my way up the latter by being the best employ I can be in my court house. I will work hard to understand myself as a Court Officers and what role and purpose I assume at work. I will identify opportunities to extend myself by volunteering for new challenges placed before me. I will try to stand out to my supervisors by always playing to my abilities and strengths, being professional, knowledgeable and looking sharp in uniform. This will help the way I am perceived by my supervisors, the public and all Court house employees. I think it is very important to not just “put in your hours” but, to always work hard, strive to go above your best and do more than most people by working harder and longer. To accomplish this objective I will do all task with a sense of urgency and volunteer for high-visibility positions. A great employee should seek tout opportunities to contribute more, and be known as the go-to person even if it means arriving early and leaving late.
