Personal Narrative: A Career In Immigration Law

One of the most rewarding accomplishments in life have been assisting my wife with her residents card. I never would have inmagined how strenous, nerve-racking, stressful this adventure would be; and yes it has been quite an interesting adventure with an unexpected twist at the end. Nevertheless to say I begin this painstakingly journey by asking my wife how do we start this process? Despite my negative attitude towards my wife, she replied gently "we need to start off by visiting our accountant who also specializes in immigration law. "Go figure". After our visit with the accountant we had detailed instructions on where to go first to start the process. Next we head to USCIS application support center in El Paseo. Finally, we recieved the letter with an interview date. My wife and I never felt proud. Once again to El Paso we go, this time I made sure exactly were the building was. I wanted everything to go smooth. The whole way up there we were extremely nervous, and anxoious. We wanted this to be over already. We found the place we both went in waited a only a few short hours then got called back for the interview. The interview seemed like an intergation at first, my wife answered all the questions honestly, and truthfully. Then the office left, and the room. We sat there in silence then he came in sat down at looked at us and said. “congratulation we approve you visa”, “Welcome to the United States of America!!”. We both grew extremely excited, we wanted to jump, scream, and shout, but we had to keep our composre, therefore we shook his hand and said poliety “thank you sir”, and we were on our marry way. We left the building my wife immediatley started to cry. I ask “whats wrong”, “im crying because I did it! I replied no “We did it”. To conclude this story my wife approved for her residents card. We waited the residents card to come in the mail, it seemed like an eternity. The delivery date has past,
