It was late October my 4th grade year, at Carmen Elementary and I was in Mr. Clifford’s class and we were leaving the very last hallway all the way down to the left. We were going to lunch and from the other building walking towards the north building where we were, was a man in a green polo shirt and a black and silver swiss army watch. He had his wedding ring tattooed on his ring finger on his left hand and he was about 5’10. I remember because he had waved hello at me. He got me listening and thinking about he said by doing it so simple and so throughout that entire year I would catch myself picking up on things I wouldn’t have payed attention too. Even if I wasn’t in the conversation I would act busy and just listen because nowadays that’s the biggest problem is finding somebody that can listen
