Personal Narrative: Backyard Oasis

Backyard Oasis Time, time is relative, it is different to everyone, and everyone is different to it [1]. In my idea, night is the best time of day, the time where everything is most serene, so this is the time I ventured out into my backyard to sit, to relax. The sky is as dark as it can get, being my location, and the few stars I can see, are brighter than most anything around me . My favorite spot in my backyard is the weeping willow, there you can hear the wind rustling in the leaves and the small leaves constantly falling and hitting the little puddle of water that never seems to disappear . Before I went out, I grabbed the best looking apple, out of those I picked two weeks before. Sitting in the chair I pulled out, I took the first bite of the apple and the crunch was the loudest thing in the empty night . The apple had a sweet flavor, with just the right amount of tartness to make me want to come come back for another bite . As I ate my apple, I slowly rocked back and forth in my chair, that seemed to go along with it because of the uneven ground, this helped me deal with the weather that seemed to bite my bare feet {1}. During this thirty-five minutes of time I set aside for myself, I thought nothing of what is to come nor what has happened [2]. In this period of complete and utter zen, I noticed that it was only nature that makes me feel this way [3]. The reflection of the sun off of the moon almost burned my eyes, if i stared at it too long {1}. The stark white rays coming from the boulder in the sky, lit up everything I saw, allowing me to see. It allowed me to notice the translucent fog of my breath, that left my mouth every few seconds . Though the bright light was coming from the moon, it did not give me the ability to see in full color, so what I really saw was a beautiful grayscale of what could’ve been colors of bright reds, yellows, and greens
