The silence was eerie, even the birds in the trees had appeared to have fallen silent. The young girl leant against the tree, pressing her body tight against the trunk in an attempt to make herself as invisible as possible as she took the time to catch her breath. She peered around to check if the coast was clear. It was.. Well at least she desperately hoped so. She peered out from her hiding spot in the cluster of bushes and into the open again. It was now or never she thought to herself before stepping out. Her footsteps, this time, were soft in an attempt to keep the noise to a minimum. She stretched, lowering her guard without any intention to do so, but being cramped in the same position for so long had been tiring. A sound came from behind her, a quiet sound.
