It was an early Saturday morning in October, when the Panther girls softball team were playing for a third straight win. The two games before that flew by easily, we won both and were playing to be seeded first in the tournaments the next day. The crowd was full of excitement, parents yelling, and the coach yelling at the umpires, because of bad calls. We were nervous because it was a really good team that had 3 of the best players in the state. We had played them in two previous tournaments, and lost on the second day, so this time we were determined to beat them.
Where Berent, Cael, Trevor, Xavier, and I drove up to play for the state cup. The rest of the team was with their parents but we decided to carpool to save money. We were all joking around until we figured out that we were going to play the older tempo team, Tempo Blaze. At first, we thought that this would be a sweep, that we would win the whole tournament without worrying, but know we have to play the team that has never lost this year and we have never beaten for as
As a junior I moved from Ryan HIgh School to Braswell High School due to my zoning with the new school. Braswell High School was a brand new high school. I attended the first year it was open in which the highest grade level they offered was juniors. Most of the students moved from their old high schools to Braswell were devastated due to the strong school spirit at their previous schools. The administration at Braswell attempted to inspire new school spirit in all the students especially the junior class.
On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, Chino Hills High School was out of power, resulting all the students got released early. I walked into the school campus about to sit at the normal table that I wait at. I usually get to school thirty minutes early because of traffic. I did notice something was off when I sat down. The area where I sat was a bit darker than usual.
As I traveled through each grade of the Croton-Harmon High School, my personal and academic goals helped to me to really flourish. These goals may have varied from year to year because a freshman is a little different from a senior, but they basically had all the same concept: I wanted to strive in school to be the best all-around student I could be, constantly stay focused and immerse myself in the Croton community. By setting my expectations and goals very high, I could flourish academically and really work to my full potential. By following these goals in school I pushed myself very hard and tried to take classes that would challenge me as well as help me to flourish as a student.
I attended Henry E. Lackey High School in Indian Head MD which is in Charles County MD I attended Lackey High School my ninth and both my tenth grade years around the beginning of 2016. My last month in Lackey High School was in February, before I left Cousin Jerry and the PPW from my high school told me about Job Corps. I couldn’t stay at Lackey because of the drama going on and my cousin knew Job Corps could provide me with a high school diploma and provide direction for my life. At Lackey High School I was constantly in trouble arguing, being defiant about the rules, and not attending class.
I watched the team as they celebrated their victory with the fans. I watched the players hug each other and cry with tears of joy. " So that 's what it would feel like to go to the state tournament," I heard myself say. As they continued to celebrate, I sat there wondering about the team and what kind of players contributed to their success.
Summer has come to an end, the school year has just started and Professor Steven Currents, a staff member at the Danville University for the last 27 years, is preparing to teach his first lesson. Life in the town of Danville is just as expected in an average size town, many people know each other and have regular jobs. Danville University is the only college in the 3 surrounding counties, which makes it rather large, holding around 16,000 students. Although the town is average size, the University is large. Professor Currents begins taking attendants when he realizes that 5 of his students enrolled in his class are missing.
In December, my family and I went skiing in Colorado. We like to go see our family, and participate in winter sports. Our two favorite sports are tubing and skiing. When we arrived at Colorado there were ten inches of snow on the ground. We had a choice to go back to my grandparent’s house or go tubing and then go back.
When it comes to sports my family has many ties to Middletown High School South. In the Going as far back as the 1980’s when my Dad attended the same high school. He was a standout wrestler for the team and was given multiple scholarships to wrestle in college. My family name is everywhere within the trophy rooms and walls of Middletown South. It was at 3:15 we were on the bus. Just leaving the school and on the bus we the team had music on on the way there and some of us were sleeping or napping for the game. So it took 20 min to get to IOWA FALLS and when we got of the bus we were excited to play them and destroy them.
It was a hot, summer day when there was the biggest and most important softball game of the year. It took place in Moville, Iowa. This softball game determined whether we go to Des Moines to play for state or not. We were getting ready for the game, up at the field, right next to Co-Op, the swimming pool, and the city park right on the highway.
It was a cold, dark, snowy, average Michigan morning. Wham! My bedroom door opened and my mom told me it was time to get up for school. I was hoping that we would have had a snow day with all of the snow that accumulated during the night, but we didn 't because Jenison never closes school for snow. It was such a struggle to even get out of bed!
Our first from Andover Central by a buzzer beater, and our second from Derby by 3, but other than that we won all of our games by 5 or more. In the league tournament we beat Derby North, by more than 15, and McPherson by more than 5 points. Finally, we got another shot at Derby, we only had one practice before the championship game. When we walked into Derby North middle school the 7th grade championship game was starting. After that we had to play, it was quiet, then our student section walked in and it got loud.
