Duty log I picked up duty phone at 5pm, began my office hours at 6pm to 8pm. During this time span I received zero calls, nor did I receive any office visits. I began my first round at 8:05 after my office hours to discover housekeeping room 3005 slightly opened. I knocked on the door, received no response.
“Log number 17: We have been lost for 10 weeks in this tundra, if anyone is hearing this then we are alive and I published this with my other log dates,” I chattered, while writing. “ What are you talking about?” questioned my pal Tom, but he goes by SANS. I replied with, “ I’m writing my 17th log date, you know I talk to myself when I write.” I have made 16 other log entries and he still questions me about this. But my cousin Sunnshine, my friend SANS (Tom), and I have been stuck in this stupid tundra in the middle of Greenland for 10 weeks, with limited food, freezing temperatures, and the University (the building we work for) completely forgot about us, go figure.
October 14 7:07 am: The raindrops glisten as i walk along the road listening to my walkman. “another day another blunder” i thought to myself. when im a minute away the bus drives right by me. “oh crap” i pull out my phone to call my parents. When I get to my bus stop I like all my parents and they come pick me up but when they before they do that they yell at me like every other day when I get to school I go straight to the band room to drop off my bass clarinet.
Listen my grandchildren, to the story of my past, the good and the bad, how your grandfather and I met, and the cruelty of the world around us. It was the date November 9, 1938. I was playing at my best friend, Rebecca’s house. Her house was a part of her father’s shop, which sold everything from shoes, to toys, to makeup, to clothes, anything you could ever imagine.
It was an early December morning. The roads were slick with a thin layer of ice. The air was crisp with a winter chill and there was a slight drizzle falling from the sky. I was riding in my dad’s truck to my grandma’s, who babysat me while my parents were at work. My little brother Kaden was also with us.
2nd Log Entry During my first log entry, I pointed out my personal goals I hoped to accomplish during this class. As a beginner swimmer, I was mainly interested in conquering my fear of water. As of week four I could say that I am now comfortable being inside a body of water. First week I could not even get my entire body into to the swimming pool.
Goal Number One I didn’t know it yet, but the way I viewed the game of lacrosse was about to change drastically. It was a normal day for me. I was in eighth grade, and I was getting ready for school.
The transmutation from the fall semester to the spring, was quite strenuous, no longer was I a part time student. I was taking 16 credits and this meant adjusting to the course load. The first couple of weeks were a hassle and I felt that there were not enough days in the week to complete the assignments. Now, in the mid semester, one of my main priorities was to purchase a planner and a calendar.
Upon entering college, I believed that I was ready to undertake the rigors of this new burgeoning experience. As I began to settle into life in college I became uneasy and uncomfortable. I found my workload to be extremely overwhelming and my brimming schedule did not afford me the opportunity to seek assistance when I needed it. I was unable to attend tutoring and study sessions because they overlapped with classes of equal importance. This soon translated into a decrease in my grades.
I quickly finished tying my shoe and hopped onto my purple mountain bike and we were off. Logan my brother who I love sometimes,Cassie My best friend, Easton Cassie’s brother,Sawyer Cassie’s brother, Mr. Wychers and I were going to ride our bikes through a trail off in the woods and go to Whistle stop and then cut through town and head to Houseman's. The sky was cloudy and the daylight was being blocked by a thick dark cloud, which looked a lot like a rain cloud. We started to cut through a dead cornfield, lifeless tall brown and crusty plants sat in a single spot and as the soft wind blew the once luscious herbs. I felt the dead greens slap me in the leg and burrs got stuck to my pant leg.
In my senior year, the classes were eighty minutes long for one semester, unlike the short forty-five minute periods that lasted an entire two semesters in my freshman year. This caused for many teachers to spend days complaining about not having enough time to teach their course; but, on the few days that they would actually give instructions, they would hand out the hardest work that they could. This not only helped me to get on the ball, but it showed me that time is precious just like the homework did in my freshman year. Both years opened my eyes to the fact that my time is valuable, and that I needed to be more productive. I loved the longer class periods in my senior year even though it did have a deep impact on my
At first I started off taking 1 or 2 classes per semester, but outside interference had me gradually upping the classes. Between work, a lack of motivation due to not having any idea of what I wanted out of life carved out, and pressure from family, I found myself not prepared for these classes. This is what you will see as you look up and down my transcript and see W's and WF's. You will see the unachieved goals, the times I thought I was an angel, the times I dreamt of being perfect. At the time of writing this paper I am 23 years old.
I was so unaware that most of my work would be online along with in class instruction and most assignments would be due at same time. Also, the discussion boards were a thing that would be graded. So, trying to handle five classes; two online and three in the class, has been a challenge. The final challenge has been the hardest, which is spending time taking care of my grandchildren. I have custody of them and there is never enough
I had heard of upperclassmen always complaining about working during the school year, yet I had never understood as an underclassmen that did not work. But three months into my Junior year I understood exactly what my peers were complaining about. Time management became my biggest weakness. Going from school straight to work and then
It was first a great struggle to get around from class to class because of having more than one teacher, but I did the best I could to learn my way. After a few days of attending school during these days, and starting to get the hang of knowing my teachers, I began to notice the change in the assigned homework and classwork assignments. I remember
