It was a radiant day in March with just a little breeze, a perfect day to play soccer. The first half of the game was just coming to an end and I had played center midfield the entire match. My team was in the lead, and we were playing a compelling game. A fake left around the girl coming at me and a lofted pass to my teammate on the wing. A smile appeared on my face as I watched the ball land perfectly in front of my teammate, giving her a picture-perfect set up to the goal. She took a forceful strike to the back of the net, but the goalkeeper snatched the ball and punted it down the field. I gazed as the ball soared over my head, I began to dash down the field. Running as quickly as I possibly could to try to get ahead of my opponent. Slowing down to catch my breath, I came to a halting stop. I heard the sound of the referee’s whistle, Indicating the other teams’ player had received a penalty kick. Panting, I returned to mark a player in the goalkeeper’s box. I still am fighting, my symptoms still have not have fully disappeared. Regardless of my concussion, this year has been stacked with achievements and amazing memories. I became the soccer and lacrosse team manager to remain part of the team, even if I could not participate. I received the highest grades this year in my whole high school career. I was able to become closer to my mom then I ever have this year. Everyday is a battle trying to keep up with school work and everyday life with a constant burden of a aching headache. If a person or teacher would look at me they would not notice the pain I am feeling everyday, because I learned how to handle the pain and make the best of it. This whole experience has taught me to never give up and to keep fighting. I believe I am a way stronger person and I will continue to fight until this dark shadow finally
