It was a typical sunny day in California. The only problem was this day wasn 't typical at all. I remember the day quite clearly. The day my parents told me that I had to move. The day my life changed. “Lucy, me and your dad have to talk to you.” Those words that were spoken from my mother’s mouth lingers in my head ever since. It was the moment my life became the way it did. I remember the curiosity that filled me when I heard that question. “What is it mom? What 's the matter? Is there something wrong?” My mother looked into my eyes and said these taunting words: “Honey, you need to pack your things. Your dad got a new job in Washington so we need to move there.” I looked at her full with doubt. “Why do we have to move? I love California and our big house with a pool! I love my friends and my life in California just in general!” It took my mom a long time to calm me down. That woman has so much patience for me that I 'm actually amazed. Next thing I knew, I was packing all of my memories in California away into big brown boxes with scotch tape wrapped around. A week passed and I remembered all of these men walking in and out of our house. They were loading the car with all of our belongings as we got into our car and started driving. A week passed and it was the first day of school for me. I woke to the sound of my alarm beeping constantly as if it was taunting me. I got off my bed and stretched for a couple of seconds. I got ready and threw on some denim jeans by Fashion nova and a simple black cropped t-shirt by H&M then went downstairs to grab some breakfast. When I went downstairs my parents were there as they greeted me with food once again. They had cooked me crispy bacon with eggs and fluffed pancakes as butter dripped from it.
